Open Web Day at Ateneo De Naga University
After we revisited Pamantasan ng Cabuyao the Team heads out to Cubao, a 3 hour trip mainly because of heavy traffic to catch the last bus trip heading to Naga City, and meet up with Sir. Jun and Sir. Ren who were waiting for at the bus station,we readied ourselves for a 12 hour travel to Naga City for our Open Web Day at Ateneo de Naga University
We arrived at Naga city around 5am and ate our breakfast at Bigg’s Diner and prepared ourselves for the 4th Open Web day. As the Team arrived at University we were excited, as we waited for Sir Irvin and the Wikimedia Philippines Team, We surveyed the area and enjoyed the relaxing scenery of the University.
We even put up the Mozilla Firefox Banner near the main building of the school Ground. At that moment while I was taking pictures I saw Wikimedia PH team from afar and waved at them they also set up their banner for a group photoshoot.
The main event is held at Fr. James O’Brien Library of the University at the Computer Research Center, the Registration started at 8:00am. Overall of 68 participants flocked the venue most of the attendees were Library and Information Science students, Librarians, and Professionals. Open Web Day is an event jointly organized by Wikimedia Philippines and Mozilla Philippines Community.
The event started off with Wikimedia Philippines Introducing how Wikipedia works and they had a workshop on how any body could contribute contents to Wikipedia.
In their Q&A portion one of the participants asked ” as a Professor how would they trust Wikipedia’s contents if anybody could easily edit it?” and Ms. Bel from Wikimedia PHL answered “… that students should only use Wikipedia as a Starting point for research specially for Thesis and always check the reference at the bottom of the article”
After their workshop the second half of the Open Web Day started right after Lunch Break, and Sir Jun’s “The Keynote” had begun, an overview of Mozilla, our advocacy, products and projects. Amazingly his keynote ended half the time it usually takes. 
For those who asked question we gave Firefox shirts and Swags, One of the most asked question on a MozTour was
“Mozilla as a non-profit organization, where do you get your budget for MozTours and other activities?” and Sir Jun explained “… one of the biggest source of wealth comes from Google, if you would notice once you open up Mozilla Firefox you would see that the default search engine is Google, and some comes from people just like you who donates, people who supports the advocacy of the foundation”
Next up on the line, Jean introducing of the project Boot to Gecko(a.k.a Firefox Mobile OS) along with the demo phone. the demo phone was passed around to be tested.
Next up is Sir Ren for Localization, with just a little introduction on Localization then the workshop begun.
With only 220 strings left untranslated, we spiced things up a little and for the top translators the team would give a Firefox shirts.
Not like any other Open Web Day, On June 30 2012 Marks the 100% Translation of Firefox Tagalog, Now its up to Reviewers and Approvers to finish the job and soon launched Firefox Tagalog
