FiiO E6 Headphone Amplifier

I have been using FiiO E6 Headphone Amplifiers since April 2012, and I must say I am enjoying every bit of it.I originally bought it due to my extreme curiosity of what a headphone amplifier let’s get down to business and let me show you how good this little baby is.

First Look and Feel:

The FiiO E6 headphone amplifier is made with glossy plastic and is very lightweight with a size of 41×40.2x9mm, and only weights 16g, its body is quite well built however if you try to shake the device to see if there are loose materials you can hear the volume rocker’s move(or maybe this is only on my unit) . This amp is very portable. and easy to carry or store in bags or pockets. The transparent back clips are easy to attach and detach though I must say that the clips doesn’t look that sturdy. that might be the reason why the company provided a replacement clip. having this glossy look the E6 do get scratched easily and finger prints marks the E6 body, the buttons are painted with chrome like finish. There is 2 LED lights to distinguish EQ(Equalizers) located at the back side and Power located at upper right.

Performance and Battery

With a small body will it last even for 4hours? unfortunately it doesn’t… But it lasted for a whopping 10 hours with continuous usage, How AMAZING is that? one more awesome feature of E6 Headphone Amplifier is it has 3 set of EQ. The First EQ (Red Light) is a bass boost, though its not that good to tell you guys honestly. The second EQ(Blue light) is Treble boost.(mid range boost). and the last EQ(Combined Red and Blue Light) is Clear & Balance bass boost. you can change the EQ on the E6′s power slider located on the right side of the unit. to change the EQ just slide it up.FiiO E6 Headphone Amplifier Power switch

If you would notice the upper right corner is lit. this is the indicator light for power. The color varies depending on how it is used, when the E6 is turned on. Blue Color means its working or being used. while if it has Blue and Red color. it is being used while it is being charged. If it is turned off. Red color means it is being charged. the led would turn off automatically when the battery is full. when you slide the power slider up and hold it for about 3 seconds it would turn itself off. sliding it down locks the E6.

The volume rockers located on the left side of the E6′s has a smooth transition on turning the sound up or down. there are no crackling sounds or distortion that can be heard in any level of the volume. as for typical volume rockers short press increase/decrease gradually change while long press increase/decrease constantly change in volume.

One downside of FiiO E6 headphone amplifiers is it does not turns off automatically. so if you forgot to turn it off. the battery would be drained continuously. but that’s not a big problem for me. I always bring my MiLi Powerbank, and with that I can charge E6 right away!

FiiO E6 headphone amplifier is a good if not the best portable amplifier out there. considering it’s cheap price of PHP 1,400 when I bought it at Astroplus in Mall of Asia last April(with 1 year warranty). It is a High Quality product, great performance, I recommend this to every Audiophiles out there. VERY portable, lightweight and easy to use. Accessories are also sold with  cheap tag prices.

Being an aspiring photographer, I’m always excited to be invited to events as it means I get an opportunity to practice my skills. I have already come up with a few ways to enhance the quality of my event photos and here are my tips so far.

When I am taking photographs of people, I like to first of all make sure everyone is happy to have their photograph taken. That way they will all look relaxed and happy to be there and my photographs will come out looking better. The next thing to think about is who you should focus on. If you are documenting a party with friends from work or, you should focus on everyone involved, whereas if you are taking photographs of a wedding, then you will want to focus mostly on the bride and groom.

It is also a good idea to get a few overview shots of the whole scene. Step back and zoom out, so that you can really capture the atmosphere of the event as a whole. Try and do it at a time when everyone is doing something interesting, or at least in the same place. You can even try and get everyone to stand side by side and pose for the camera.

However, it is also a good idea to get some natural shots of people at the event. Try taking shots from different angles and playing around with the settings on your camera. Catch people laughing and talking to each other, so that you can really capture the essence of what it was like to attend the event. Keep smiling and interacting with people, and when you take photographs, make sure you tell everyone how great the photographs are looking.

Maupay na Udto! which means Good Afternoon the only translated word I know before going to this trip. Its been a month of preparation for this MozTour at Leyte: Visayas State University which was spear-headed by our fellow Mozilla Representative Melchor “Chor” Compendio, The team was composed of our Community Manager Eusebio “Jun” Barrun jr, Localization Lead Robert “Bob” Reyes, Remo Applicant Kathleen Joyce Domanog, Chor and Me the photographer(hehe).

As Early as 3am Joyce and I left our humble abode and was brought to the Airport by our Very Handsome Dad.(THANKS!), we waited for our friends to arrive at the entrance of NAIA Terminal 2. First to arrive was Bob, and we immediately entered the terminal and did all Airport SOP’s, and sat around the waiting area to wait for Chor and Jun, our flight would leave at 5:40am and we arrived on Daniel Z. Romualdez Airport at about 7:00am. We took a ride on a jeepney heading to a shuttle van service namely Van-Van’s, this would take the team from Tacloban to Baybay the first stop of the Tour.

MozTour Leyte Travel Map

“We literally crossed mountains  and bridges” quoting Bob to use it on our blogs. our first agenda after the long trip would be lunch!, Andok’s at Baybay City is quite different from those we see near our place. This branch has a dine-in service and has a nice view from the bay and the ambiance is very good as well. The weather that time was great, warm and dry.

Team arrived at Baybay Terminal

After we ate our lunch and got a good rest. Chor called a Multi-cab(it is something like a portable jeepney, commonly used by barangay tanods in Manila) and we headed to VSU a 15 minute ride from Baybay Terminal. When we arrived at the venue, we immediately prepared our equipments to be used and how the venue would look. My sister Joyce, readied at her station for the registration booth.

Preparing for the Event

My happy sister proudly wearing her first Mozilla Firefox Tshirt :D

The MozTour at Leyte: Visayas State University event started with Jun’s Keynote entitled Mozilla for Webgeeks. and “THE KEYNOTE” have returned, explaining the General  Overview of the community, even if  “THE KEYNOTE” was long(approximately 2 hours), the audience had fun and surely was listening well. The venue was jam packed that even the second floor of the venue suddenly got full and some are already standing beside the door.

Jampacked Session with Jun

Next in line was Bob, his presentation is about HTML5 Cross Platform Mobile Development, and of course including Firefox OS(B2G). Bob showed and demonstrated the first ever Unit of Firefox OS here in the Philippines to the audience. including screenshots of the User Interface and Firefox Mobile OS’ capability running on a local TELCO simcard. Bob even dared the attendees quoting

If anyone’s smartphones here can boot faster than the Firefox Mobile OS, Talk to me I’ll give you a prize.

Firefox Mobile OS with BobSome tried turning off their smartphones including my sister and Chor. but their units failed the boot test.

After Bob’s Presentation it was my turn. I was kinda nervous because it was my first time to present with more that 30 persons. My Presentation was about Mozilla Student Reps. I was always known as a happy person and always seen smiling, being like that as my nature, I decided to bring the happiness to the audience.

Mozilla Student Reps and Me

Since I am a product of the Student Reps Program I shared to them all of my experiences, what Student Reps do, and their benefits. I also discussed the difference of a Mozilla Representative to a Student Rep.  Seems my way of presenting is effective

All I can say is MozTour at Leyte: Visayas State University was a success. Everyone enjoyed the seminar everyone received their SWAGs. For those who asked questions and to those who answered they were rewarded Mozilla Tshirts. We have 3 Winners namely Darrel Kim Destriza, Ral Itong and sorry I still have no info of the name of the third winner.
